Description: The central requirement for the development of the Internet of Things -IoT ecosystem is the provision of embedded and autonomous sensors and transducers able to provide continuous information regarding the status and condition of the monitored objects and entities. The workshop seeks to identify and present suitable materials platforms and sensing technologies, eligible for the development of autonomous sensors and monitoring devices for employment in the future Internet of Things in diverse application sectors like environmental, industrial, defence, biomedical and healthcare. Indicative topics such as: material platforms, wireless enabled sensors, embedded sensors, implantable sensors, wearable sensors, body area networks, nanosensors as well as studies on system's related issues addressing interoperating requirements between physical and network layers, will be considered.
